/  Reflections & Lessons   /  Married to the Game: What They Don’t Tell You About Life in the Spotlight

There’s a certain kind of life that comes with being married to someone in the world of professional sports—and it’s nothing like the highlight reels.

Yes, there are moments of pride. The wins. The long-awaited call-ups. The milestones we cheer for with tears in our eyes. But behind every jersey is a partner who’s lived through the travel days, the missed holidays, the relocations, and the quiet loneliness of starting over in a new city—again.

I created “Married to the Game” because I believe there’s power in sharing what really happens behind the scenes. It’s more than just a title. It’s an identity—a quiet strength so many of us carry without recognition.

Through this series, I’ll be interviewing women in our circle who have walked this road: the wives, the girlfriends, the partners. We’ll talk about the sacrifices, the growth, the hard lessons, and the joy that comes from choosing to stand beside someone chasing their dream—even when it means putting pieces of your own on hold.

This isn’t a tell-all. It’s a space for real stories.

Because our stories deserve space. Our voices deserve to be heard. And if you’ve ever felt like no one really sees all that you do to keep the wheels turning—this is for you.

I hope these interviews make you feel connected, encouraged, and maybe even a little less alone in it all.

So here’s to the women behind the game. The unsung MVPs.

xoxo, Bree
