Faith, The Walk and Right on Time Love with Alison Bloomquist
If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like to live boldly in your faith while navigating the world of dating a professional baseball player, Alison Bloomquist’s story is one you need to hear.
At just 26 years old, she is building a Christian brand with kingdom impact. In this interview, she shares her journey of obedience, identity and entrepreneurship. She is wise beyond her years and I left the conversation inspired by her openness and wisdom.
Alison Bloomquist is a Michigan native, former professional NFL cheerleader, entrepreneur, and co-founder of a faith-based clothing brand designed to help believers share their testimonies.
“I’ve been dancing since I was 3 years old,” Alison shares. “I danced at Michigan State University and then pursued a professional career with the Detroit Lions Cheerleaders.”
Her faith journey began in high school, but it wasn’t without challenges.
“At 17, after my baptism, I wrestled deeply with obedience and surrender. I was constantly going back and forth between control and fully trusting God.”
That tension ultimately led to a life-changing decision.
“I was on track to become a physical therapist, but at 23, I told my program I wasn’t coming. I felt God calling me away from that path and toward starting my own business.”
Alison and Riley: A Faith-First Love Story.
Their relationship began after Alison’s season of surrender. “In spring 2023, I prayed: ‘God, I don’t think I actually know what I want. I just want what YOU have for me.’” The answer she felt? Wait. So she stepped away from dating distractions and committed to a season of singleness and obedience.
A few months later, Riley followed her on Instagram. “My interest was definitely there,” she admits. “But I knew I wasn’t supposed to act on it yet.” Only after continued prayer (and a few more requests to God) did she feel peace to move forward. “After feeling like God finally gave me a ‘yes’ I waited 3 more days before I followed Riley back.” Something that they still laugh about today.
The foundation of our relationship has been obedience, even when it doesn't make sense.
The couple spent nearly a year building their relationship privately before going public. “That time was such a gift. It protected my heart and gave us the opportunity to focus on each other without all the outside noise.”
The Challenges of Dating a MLB Player-
Being in a public relationship—especially in professional baseball—comes with unique pressures.
“One of the hardest parts was when people became more interested in who I was with than who I was,” Alison shares. “I got used to people asking about ME and my dance accomplishments and once I started dating Riley, most of the attention was centered around him.”
“I went from being Alison to being known as someone’s girlfriend. I know my identity is in Christ—but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been challenging.”
The Verse She is Currently Holding:
Alison is currently holding onto:
1 Thessalonians 4:11
“Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands.”
“How do I live a quiet life while being in the spotlight?” she reflects with a laugh and a shrug.
Her answer is intentional living—stepping away from comparison, limiting distraction, and focusing on creating rather than consuming.
“I constantly check my heart. Why am I going on social media? What’s my motivation?”
What Is “The Walk?” (Faith-Based Clothing Brand with a Mission)?
Alison is the co-founder of The Walk, a Christian clothing brand with a powerful purpose: helping believers boldly share their faith. “Our mission is to equip believers to be bold,” she explains. “When you wear what you believe, you become a walking testimony.”
How The Walk Works (QR Code Testimony Clothing)
What makes The Walk unique is its use of dynamic QR codes. Each piece of clothing includes a personalized QR code that links directly to the wearer’s testimony or chosen content. “One night my friend and I were talking and dreaming up ideas. The idea came from a simple question—what if people could instantly access your story?” Alison says. “That’s something that can truly change lives.”
Key features of The Walk:
- Gives people the opportunity to wear their personal testimony through testimony collection.
- Gives people the opportunity to wear scripture that rotates to different verses every 10 minutes through the living word collection.
- A simple way to share your faith in everyday life
The brand launched in 2022 and became Alison’s full-time focus in 2025. You can find more information or order your own shirt at shop.thewalkstories.com

“How do I lead a quiet life inside this life in the spotlight? I make sure to get to the secret place with the Lord.”
How She Stays Grounded in the Baseball Lifestyle.
Life in baseball can be fast-paced, public, and emotionally demanding. Alison credits a few key practices for keeping her grounded:
1. Strong Community.
She leans on a close circle of trusted friends that she has grown up with as well as plugging in to the women’s bible study at the field.
2. Time in the Word
“I don’t know how people navigate this life without a relationship with the Lord.” Time spent praying and in my bible are key for me.
3. Social Media Boundaries
“There are times I have to step away. The noise of other people’s opinions can be overwhelming.I have to create healthy boundaries, and honestly it allows me to stay more attuned to Riley’s needs as well.”
These habits allow her to show up more fully in her relationship and purpose.
